The true mastermind behind Big Star's classic debut and his flawless solo album I am the Cosmos. Often overshadowed by his bandmate Alex Chilton.

Mistakenly lumped in with the sappy hair metal of the era due to their image, Candy released some of the best power pop of the eighties which sadly went unheard by most.

Although legends in power pop, it is a shame that they are not considered legends by anyone else. Their two studio albums are almost unmatched by any other power pop band.

Power pop fans know how good Shoes are, but again, like Blue Ash, not enough other people do. It is not well known how groundbreaking, production/recording wise, Black Viynl Shoes was.

Alone, Andy Paley has worked with the likes of such artists as Brian Wilson, The Ramones, Madonna, and more. Together, The Paley Brothers held their own as one of the best power pop bands of the seventies.

Formed in 1985, Big Dipper became a must hear around college campuses everywhere. But why aren't we still talking about how great they are today? Their songs "All Going Out Together" and "Faith Healer" are great lost classics.

Their song "All Ready" is a near perfect pop song and So Wound is a near perfect pop record.

Country rock tinged power poppers that are virtually unknown. Take one listen to their album Native Sons and you will instantly be hooked.
